How much does it cost to install a commercial kitchen extraction system?

To answer that question we need to know what a typical installation is.

The Health & Safety Executive says - "remove cooking fumes at source, ie at the appliance", "remove excess hot air", "provide enough air for complete combustion at fired appliances"

We have only take the most important points.  There are other point to consider.  Here is a link to the full text LINK

There are other references such as

IGEM guidance & DW/172

DEFRA kitchen guidance & Noise assessment procedures & Odour assessments.

Typical system specification

  • Stainless Steel Extraction Hood 2.5metre long - Big enough to cover the commercial sized appliances
  • Primary baffle filters inside the extraction hood
  • Ducting - to contain the dirty air.
  • Fan motor - to move the air
  • Speed controller to change the amount of air extracted
  • Quiet enough to not be a nuisance externally or internally

So what do we now know

  1. Prices vary considerably  The same system, the same performance and the same quality.
  2. Quality does not change greatly.  It's still the same ducting, fans and material grade.
  3. Fitting and profit margins can be very different.
